Photo of 2011

With the new year here I find it fitting to reflect on 2011. As such I am picking my favorite picture of 2011. It's a goodie and a classic.

I wish someone would've told me

If someone breaks your heart, just punch them in the face.

Oh sure, it seems obvious now, but you’d be amazed at how many people don’t think of it when it’s relevant.

Seriously, punch them in the face and go get some ice cream.

--Chuck Klosterman

If you don't understand this, have no desire to do this, or

think this is silly...then clearly you have never been in the

heartbreak boat before. Yes...it may be the immature way to

go...but goodness when your heart is breaking...

the immature way is the ONLY way.

Lucky for me, I will never have to be in this boat again...

butt for all of you out there who still are or could be....Doo it.

I wish I would have.

And most likely who ever your punching deserves it...

and even if they don't

 it'll probably still feel fantastic

and totally worth it =)

Food for Food....kinda

We El Barragan's....we're cool.

Last Tuesday was date night, and for date night we decided to do a little spalurging and get us some Cafe Rio (big deal).

Tuesday Original Plan:

Jorge gets off work about 6:15.
Husband gets into gym shorts at 6:35.
(I am already in appropriate Gym Shorts/ Cafe Rio attire)
Leave for Cafe 6:36,
Arrive at 6:43.
Order, Home by 7: 03
7:04 Eat & Watch our new fave show
"Master Chef"

Actual Events of Tuesday:

Jorge gets off work 6:35
Whorhay Gets home 6:55
Takes some quick alone time at 7:00
(Saydee sits on couch waiting for Husband
to fill her empty stomach...turns on T.V.)
7:07 Jorgie gets done with alone time
sits on couch with mi and watches Master Chef.
(clearly very hungry people)

Which by pure happenstance it was the Season Finale of Master Chef!!  you can only imagine our excitement.

Ya I know right....big deal.  Nooo way we're getting off this couch.  People cooking food....while we are craving food.  Peerfect combo.  It came down to the Top 3:

Christian
The cocky butt-head no one likes, but very good with the Sea Food

Brenda
Which come to find out her name is actually Jennifer....
I figured that out after callin her Brenda like 10 times and then
Jorge was finally like "Who's Brenda???"

and our favorite.....

Miguel
Jorge has this thing where he roots for the Mexican
on every show we watch.  You gotta always go for the Mexican he says...
he's bias :)
p.s. Come to find out that's not his actul name either!  It's Adrian.... I also found this out after refering to Miguel several times and finally 45 seconds later Jorgio turning to me and asking me "Who in the heck is Miguel ??"   It's not my fault he looks like a Miguel.....
Jorge told me I was racist.

Anywho.... by 8:05 we had definitely caught on that this show wasn't ending anytime soon.
So what did we do with an empty stomach since 9 am, and a husband who does not..I repeat DOES NOT...do well without food in his belly?

Yes we did just that.... Sat and watched some more :)

To make a loong story short...Brenda won.  I wasn't fully satisfied,
butt anythings better than Christian right?

So that was our Tuesday Night.

Waited 2 hours to eat actual food
so we could watch food be cooked...

Date Successful :)

Some things are a BIG deal

Life is all about Milestones.

  • *First steps* (cliche' i know...)
  • First time *showering by myself* (shoutout to Kate for the drawing =)
  • 9 yrs old and with some help (thank you lovely "Mouth Pokey Gaurd") you *stop sucking your thumb*
  • *Staying up all night* w/o sleep at a sleepover, and then dancing in a South Weber wind storm as the sun comes up   (love you Brandi, Kenzie and Manda Jo)
  • Ice Cream shops are the only way to go for your *First Job*
  • Making the Butler's peanut butter cookies will never make up for what I did to their Truck (*First Car Crash*) still so sorry...
  • Finding the perfect song to get you through the unstoppable crying from the *First Heart-Break*...and listening to it for many heart-breaks to come
  • *Living on your own* no parents to tell you it's probably not a good idea to eat a gallon of Farr's Plato Ice Cream all by yourself (Thanks Lizzy)
  • Getting to the point where you *rely on your sisters and family more than your friends*

and then theres the really big stuff:

*First Kisses*

One year ago this week on an August night in a Tree, me and my Mexi Man shared our first kiss.  For some people the first kiss is a pretty big deal and for others it means nothing and is all about fun.

But in the lives of Saydee and Jorge...that kiss was the beginning of everything.

Even though i didn't think he ever would.... I'm so glad he was able to get up that tree.

Love you Mexican Man :)

Tell me if I'm weird

So I have this thing.....

When I go out to eat or even have homemade food that I love (like Spegetti or Stuffing) and say I eat it all that night and don't save any for the next day OR I am so full I am not thinking clearly and decide not to take home my leftovers OR I have leftovers and give them to Jorgie cause he needs lunch for work...

Well when this happens:

 I get super sad.

Like supa sad.  I crave it ... I want to eat it right now.

and eventually that sadness turns into madness because I think why didn't I just eat it when I had the chance??

Then I go through the bitter stage...

mainly with whomever helped convince me not to take my food home or who I give the food to the next day (it passes quickly though Jorgie!)

Yesterday me and Jorgie Poo went to Chili's and Applebee's (yes i know...talk about the fatties we're becoming. You should know the double 'eat out' day was forced upon us!)

I had left overs from Applebee's....Jorge had leftovers from Chile's (sidenote: Jorge got my favorite dish I get everytime we go to Chili's, Honey Chipotle Chicken Crispers,

Are you seeing this marvelous Goodness?

and I forced myself to get a salad.

At this point you better be noticing my hearts discontent

Terrible decision.  Total Regret.

This morning I let Jorge take my Applebee's left overs to work.... he took his Chili's too (i didn't think just his would be enough to make him full...Good Wife Card).

So this is how the rest of the day will pan out:

Now at about 11 o'clock I am in the sad stage

1:28 p.m. (around the time of my lunch break) i will hit the mad stage.

1:43 p.m. (half way through my break) I will be bitter.
(i love you whorehey)

4:26 p.m.  I will have forgotten about all this nonsense

9:32 p.m.  I'll be getting in the car to drive myself to Chili's

P.S.  Jorge don't read into this too much.....I will still give you my leftovers, cause i know you love the food just as much as I do =)

Royal Hullaballooo

The Royals have landed...... in Hollywood....  and its all over my stinking computer news.....

I have grown bored of all the Royalty shenanigans.  Although I do think Princess Kate is loooovely.  If I had her stylist Jorge probably wouldn't be soooo embarrased of my closet....alright no probably about it he'd be loving it and treatin me like a QUEEN.  :) (which he already does...so i'll just stick to my closet for now)

Let's just admit it...the girls got Swag.

Anywho....

With Kate and William being soooo close to me (only a whole 2 states away) is making me feel nostolgic.  Taking me back....

The day was  April 29th, 2011.

My madre had informed me that she was my age when Princess Diana and Prince cheated on Diana, got married.

Check out those sleeves.

Mamma was 20 or so and she remembers waking up the middle of the night adnd watching the wedding....talk about historical....a "Royal Fairy Tale" they called it! I thought to myself:

UMMMMMM... wanna do that!

So i did my research.  Entermtainment Weekly was nice enough to inform me that coverage of the Royal wedding would start at 2 AM.  Schweeeet!  I would Wake up after probably 2 hours of sleep, watch the wedding for like an hour or so and get back in bed and FORCE Jorgio to cuddle with me.

My alarm was set for 2 AM. I guess I didn't even hear it because at 3 AM I woke up in such a frenzy!  I was f r e a k i n g out.  Jorge didn't even budge.  I thought for sure I had missed the wedding!  I turn on the T.V. (which I set to the correct channel the night before to avoid any lost clicker situations)

I was SAVED!  The wedding hadn't started yet.  In fact the Princess hadn't even arrived at the Cathedral yet...IN FACT stinking Prince William hadn't even gotten to the Cathedral yet.  What in the HECK were these Royals taking their sweet precious time doing! I thought for sure it wouldn't be long though.....How long could it take for them to drive down the street and get to this old building??

About an hour later I hear Barbara Walters say...."we are about 45 minutes away from the wedding!"  fml.
So I waited.  I think I was pulled in by all the cool hats or something.  But finally...FINALLY.  Princess Kate arrives at the Old building!  Halleluijah.

Let's get this ball on the roll...

Too bad it took her 30 freaking minutes to get down that aisle!  How long was that thing...and how slow was she walking??  (side note: beautiful music.  those little boys sound like girls.      in a good way.)

It's about 5 AM at this point.  So the weddings over....coverage is over....story is over....right?? Nooo!  those stinkin Britians. Now all i'm hearing Barbara talk about is how momentous this "First Kiss" is that the Royal Couple shares!  It's gonna be like 10 minutes and then they'll kiss right??
About 10 minutes later I hear Barbara Walters say...."we are about 40 minutes away from the "Kiss!"  wtf.

At this Point I have been up for 3 hours to watch this whole thingy... there is no way in Hell, Michigan that I am missing this kiss!  A Fairy Tale is not complete without it's kiss.

So I wait.  and Finally...FINALLY. they get on that balcony and kiss.
and not only that....they kissed TWICE!

I was pretty happy at this point...I figured I had stayed awake for 4 hours in the wee hours of the morning...the least the royal couple could give me was 2 kisses.  I was pleased.  Seeing the kisses made it all worth it.  I was reminded of how wonderful weddings are and how happy I was when I finally got to spend FOREVER with my sweetie, Jorgie.  It was 7 am at this point and "The Royal Fairy Tale" was over and I was apart of their history. kinda. ha

So then I turned off the t.v. and scurried off to my bed...

to force my own Prince Jorgie to cuddle with me :)

Got no Sleep and Totally worth it.
